Legacy of
EDUCATION

Don’s education journey started here in Central Texas at Round Rock High School. He then went on to graduate from Western Washington University and studied at Dallas Theological Seminary for 3 years. A lifelong learner, Don firmly believes in the power of education.

In 1992, Don helped found the Regents School of Austin, a private school with a classical, Christian approach to education. Don served as the Founding Chairman of the Board and also as the first Headmaster. Today the school has over 1000 students in grades K-12.

Legacy of
FAITH

Don has a real and personal relationship with Jesus. In the 1980’s, he served on the staff of Young Life at Beyond Malibu, an adventure camp in British Columbia with a unique wilderness experience.

For over 20 years, Don has been a participant in the National Prayer Breakfast and its parent organization, the International Foundation, whose mission is to walk alongside national and international political leaders and encourage them through the leadership principles taught and practiced by Jesus. The National Prayer Breakfast was founded in 1953, and every U.S. President since Dwight D. Eisenhower has participated. Today, Don serves on the board of CORE Fellowship, whose mission parallels that of the International Foundation.

Legacy of
ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Don has launched 8 different companies, the first at the age of 23, ranging from window treatments, commercial real estate, facility services, and technology. The flagship business is Professional Janitorial Service (PJS), which Don founded in the spring of 1986. What originally began as a small janitorial firm in Austin, where Don did much of the cleaning himself, has now grown by leaps and bounds to become the largest privately owned janitorial company in Texas.

Now celebrating its 30th year in operation, PJS holds offices in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, and Corpus Christi and has over 2,500 employees. For years PJS has been recognized for providing superior service to its clients and treating its employees ethically, respectfully, and responsibly. When asked the reason for the success of PJS, Don’s answer is always the same, “It’s our people. We employ the most talented people in the industry.”
